Pioneering NEOLAST fibers solution for sports and leisure wear

NEOLAST fibers made using Celanese NEOLAST elastoester polymers enable the creation of more sustainable power-stretch performance fabrics. Used as an alternative to elastane, commonly referred to as spandex, in elite performance stretch fabrics, NEOLAST fiber is spun using a solvent-free proprietary melt-extrusion process. And, because NEOLAST fiber is made from NEOLAST elastoester polymers, it can help to address the challenge of recycling blended fabrics. Designers can now create more sustainable power-stretch clothing that delivers elite performance Wearing power stretch clothing made with innovative NEOLAST fibers, professional athletes, sports enthusiasts and consumers can now benefit from comfortable, well-fitting garments that meet their sustainability and performance aspirations.

Solvent-free and unlocks recycling potential Eliminates potentially hazardous chemicals typically used in spandex production through a solvent-free proprietary melt-extrusion spinning process. Can help unlock the ability for end-users to recycle apparel/textiles. Enables the creation of more durable and longer-lasting garments, providing opportunities for reusable clothing programs. Excellent balance of stretch and recovery, and durability Provides an excellent balance of stretch, recovery, and compression. Increases production precision allowing spinners to control stretch levels, engineering fibers to meet fabric specifications. Provides a good balance of hydrophobic properties, allowing fast moisture dispersion. Improves durability and elasticity offering chemical resistance after repeated exposure.

Celanese experts are helping industry-leading spinners: Redesign existing equipment – some redesign modifications are required to traditional polyester spinning equipment. Set up newly purchased equipment – new melt extrusion spinning machines with this proprietary technology have been introduced. Collaborating with Under Armour, other athletic wear Brand Owners and spinners, a broad range of apparel applications containing NEOLAST fibers are being evaluated.
